Performance-Level Dance Method
PDLM Building Blocks
Performance-Level Dance Method is a class created and taught by Michael Curtis. It is a series of interdependent exercises that build on one another. Dancers work on a series of progressively complex exercises to develop an ability to first connect with a partner, then access emotion, then finally to bring choices and response to choreography. The PLDM Core Fundamentals consists of ten exercises broken into 4 stages: The Connection, The Dialogue, The Emotional Character, and Telling the Story.
PLDM Choreography Breakdown
Performance Choices is a complement to PLDM Core Fundamentals. It is a class aimed at stimulating creativity in the dancer. A small amalgamation will be assigned for homework. The dancer will take this home and learn the choreography. They then will apply style and emotional choices. Each dancer will perform this during the following class with feedback given. This will instill better preparation habits within each dancer.

However, the mental side of performing is barely addressed, yet it remains a vital ingredient in the formula for a successful career.
